Union: Art Gallery

A show featuring a selection of contemporary American Indian artists whose work addresses cultural implications of sovereignty through vivid, visual commentaries. Exhibiting Artists Include: Kimberly Blaeser, Chris Cornelius, Bunky Echo-Hawk, Phyllis Fast, Truman Lowe, Norval Morriseau, Daphne Odijig, Bernard Perley, Jolene Rickard, Dave Shananaquet, Wayne Yerxa, and Cecil Youngfox.

A collection of works exploring the relationship between urban and natural environments. In this exhibition, Larson – an alumnus and current art faculty at Alverno College - focuses on the architectural structures that create dwellings and emphasizes the psychological conditions of the people that occupy them.

Ranging from works that fit in the palm of your hand to pieces you walk through as you read each word, explore the innovative, structural ways in which artists conceive the book as art. Featuring art from Special Collections at the UWM Libraries, this show presents a breadth of book art focusing on structure and design.

Come see work created by the undergraduate students of the UWM Peck School of the Arts Department of Visual Art who received scholarship and fellowship awards in 2014. The exceptional artwork produced by these emerging artists covers a wide variety of mediums and topics.
